The forest mushroom. A history of well-being and defense for the body.

One of the most effective ways to take care of and maintain the body's well-being for longer is of course the choice to adopt healthy and balanced life and nutrition habits, but it is also a matter of reserving beneficial attitudes to support the natural defenses. An excellent goal is to preserve its vitality, which in the past was considered to be of great value by many civilizations, particularly the Oriental ones.
With this premise in Japan and China, populations have, since ancient times, used the skills of a mushroom, the Shiitake. Its name comes from the union of two Japanese words: shii, which indicates a tree similar to oak, and take, mushroom; In fact, on the logs of this tree, Shiitake grows spontaneously.
It is also called the "Forest Mushroom" and is the second most famous and used mushroom in the world: in China its cultivation is even precedent to that of rice! A Chinese legend says that it was a woodcutter to cultivate it first: to check whether its ax was working properly, the woodcutter threw it against a tree stump on which Shiitake was already growing. Just after that cut into the plant, a few days later, the fungus began to develop: in fact, it had discovered the cultivation method, which is still practiced today, repeatedly striking wood logs, to create openings in which the spores of the Mushroom can germinate.
The Shiitake (Lentinula edodes) is a scented mushroom, highly appreciated and consumed also as a food. In the East, according to the oldest beliefs, it is a precious remedy that can "corroborate vital energy". Today, it is well studied in the West as well, and modern scientific research has made it possible to highlight the beneficial properties of this fungus and its extracts that can be used to support the natural immune defense of the organism. Erbamea has formulated a dietary supplement based on Shiitake dry extract, titrated in its polysaccharide content.
