The Devil's Claw is a plant that grows spontaneously in the arid regions of Kalahari in southern Africa: the land of the Bushmen and also the sixth largest desert in the world.
Its peculiarity is to crawl on the ground and produce dried fruits with arms hooked to hooks: a fundamental gimmick to ensure the dispersion of the seeds contained therein.
With hooks, in fact, the fruit tensely cling to the feet and mouth of the herbivorous animals, forcing them to shake furiously to free them, as if dancing possessed by the devil: hence the name of the Devil's Claw.
